400 g
halloumi
100 g
semolina
1 tsp
za'atar
vegetable oil
for frying
Hot Honey
4 tbsp
honey
1 tsp
chilli flakes
1 tbsp
lemon juice
Method
- Cut halloumi into thick fries about 1cm wide and 7cm long. Pat completely dry with kitchen paper.
- Mix semolina and za'atar in a shallow bowl.
- Heat 2cm of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 180°C.
- Coat each halloumi fry in the semolina mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy. Don't overcrowd the pan.
- Drain on kitchen paper.
- Warm honey with chilli flakes and lemon juice in a small pan for 30 seconds.
- Arrange halloumi fries on a plate and drizzle with hot honey.
